5 year old video but looks good. Ill be putting some connectors in my 75, probably do caltracs/traction bars at the same time. Im not sure, probably going to weld mine in and will probably do that same time I do any cage work. Mine isn't nearly as nice as yours.. but I don't intend for it to ever be.

Nice vid, but from what Ive seen others do, you installed the last seal, or dust protector the wrong way, ive always seen it installed groove facing sector shaft.

I have an 06 Pontiac torrent that started having wiring/bcm issues, after a mechanic diagnosed it. I got a used bcm and brought it to a dealer. The mechanic there tried to exchange bcm’s and reprogram it but my vehicle wouldn’t accept the foreign bcm. So he put the original back in and it worked fine after that for about six months. But now I’m having the same issues again. I’ll tackle this myself with the help of your video. Thanks.

What if my security light isn’t staying on or flashing during this process? I’ve tried it multiple times and still won’t start. I replaced the relays and fuses. Battery is good etc. solenoid is good. Just won’t start. It was working fine and then the same day it just wouldn’t disengage

Great video, thanks! You've saved us countless hours of frustration. On my 2003 Trailblazer, the new cylinder didn't want to drop fully down into the bore. The original cylinder wouldn't go back in either. Looking down the bore with a flashlight, the inner mating surface wasn't in alignment. I suspect the "start position" spring pressure rebounded as the cylinder was extracted. I was able to turn the mating surface more towards the front of the vehicle (clockwise) using a large flat blade screwdriver, and then the new lock cylinder mated correctly. All good now 🙂

0:33 One thing which helped me get the old part out was with angle grinder cutting into the old part including the rubber, until the only thing left on the driveshaft was the actual bearing itself. This made it 100x easier to get off because then when I was hammering it I was actually hammering the bearing itself out, and the rubber wasn't absorbing the impact like initially. Then to put the other one back in, use hammer again. I used 3/8 extension (The thingy used for the sockets on the wrench) to get it in/out) aim for the inner lip when re inserting.

Dealerships don't reprogram miles buddy if that's the case everybody would be going there to get it modified what you have to do correctly is take out the two old prongs from the old BCM and we can start them into the new BCM because those prongs are what holds the mileage storage and it will read properly
